Position Title: Portfolio Manager: Business Membership Organisations
Job Location: Abuja
The Position reports to the Programme Manager and will play the primary role of working with a wide range of private sector clients to develop a series of interventions to build their capacity in a sustainable and replicable way.
Key Responsibilities
- Pro-actively hunt for target organisations and establish communications with those Business Membership Organisations that can benefit from ENABLE’s services,
- Help clients to identify their strengths, weaknesses and opportunities, and to identify priority areas for strengthening,
- Support clients in selecting advocacy projects that address a key area of weakness that can be converted into an opportunity.
- Working with clients to develop project plans and converting them into full Project Proposals.
- Overseeing the implementation of project and providing technical support and advice where necessary
- Delivering a series of workshops for clients with the aim of providing understanding of advocacy.
- Increasing the adoption of good advocacy practices and increased cooperation between clients.
- Improving the way clients interact with journalists and the media.
Educational Qualification
- A good first degree in Business Administration, or related fields in Humanities. A Masters degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
Knowledge, skill and experience
- Professional experience in business advocacy
- Professional expertise working in the private sector
- In-depth understanding of Nigeria’s business environment
- Track record in efficient and effective project management
- Excellent networking skills
- Excellent decision making and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A pro-active self-starter who can operate both individually and as part of a team
- Outstanding needs analysis, positioning, business justification and closing skills
- A minimum of 7 years experience, at least 3 of which must be in management position
- Travel is essential for this position
