GENERAL SECRETARY

Qualifications

  • A good first degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution, in the management sciences, social sciences or Law
  • Membership of The Nigeria Industrial Relations Association (NIRA) or Chattered Institute of Personnel management (CIPM) will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 15 years cognate working experience in a Trade Union Organisation or Unionised Organizations is required, 5 years or which must have been spent in the position of Assistant General Secretary or its equivalent

ATTRIBUTES

  • Should be computer Literate
  • Sound and astute administrator
  • Strategic Thinker and also creative
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Good verbal and written communications
  • Good working knowledge of Nigeria Labour Legislations
  • Conversation with current trends in Industrial Relations Practice in Nigeria
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills

DUTIES

The schedule of duties for this very important position shall be discussed during the interview. On assumption of duties, the comprehensive schedule of duties as drawn up by the appropriate organs of the of the association, together with the duties prescribed for the General Secretary by the Association’s constitutions shall be handed over to the successful candidate.
