Description
Under general direction, conducts analyses, treats and maintains all aspects of Board boiler, feed, chilled, hot, condensate, and condenser water systems ensuring compliance with standards; trains and participates with coworkers engaged in the maintenance, repair and treatment of these open and closed loop water systems; ensures the quality and control of all thermal energy related water system products utilized; ensures appropriate inventories, documentation and records are maintained. Become familiar with the basics of DFW Airport’s Environmental Management System & Environmental Policy and implement Best Management & Good Housekeeping Practices.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
* Three (3) years of combined experience in performing water system chemical analysis, inspecting, maintaining and monitoring industrial power plant and potable water treatment systems.
* Two (2) year of experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of water or wastewater systems.
* Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
* Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Knowledge of the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial water treatment systems.
* Knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of potable water systems.
* Knowledge of governmental regulations applicable to water systems.
* Knowledge of maintenance planning and trouble shooting techniques.
* Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions associated with handling chemical, reagents and hazardous materials.
* Skill in the use and care of tools, instruments and equipment common to water treatment.
* Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams and sketches.
* Ability to plan, schedule, assign, inspect and evaluate the work of subordinates.
* Ability to detect, diagnose and correct defects and malfunctions in the industrial and potable water systems.
* Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations such as fractions, decimals and percentages.
* Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
* Ability to maintain accurate records of expenditures and tests, repairs and maintenance of industrial and potable water systems.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, and to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
* Ability to work rotating shifts on a periodic basis.
* Ability to pass a medical physical examination.
* Ability to obtain a U.S. Customs security clearance.
