This position will define, initiate, implement and manage a wide range of composites, sandwiched, and foam core applications for a variety of industrial customers. In this role the engineer will provide detail technical support to several of our most important customers. Incumbent will be responsible for implementing Specialty Material products in various composites/foam solutions with an initial focus on developing non-packaging markets around existing products (sandwiched core) or combinations of products. Incumbent will be responsible for presenting our solutions and demonstrating our evaluation platforms. In addition incumbent will generate new design wins, create new product ideas and troubleshoot existing customer designs if needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist customers in the selection, design and trouble shooting of foam and film products/solutions.
· Partner with Sales Representatives to grow Specialty Materials product attributes at target customers.
· Presentation of Specialty Materials product solutions to customers
· Provides Customer with solution and evaluation support
· Provides New Product Proposal inputs to marketing and business development groups based upon customer requirements
· Initiates the development and evaluation of performance solutions to customer to demonstrate feasibility and validate product concepts.
· Provides technical support in the evaluation, pre-production, and production stages of our customer’s products.
· Verification and demonstration of our evaluation platforms to customers
· Providing incremental design win revenue each quarter
· Training our customers to use our products effectively in their systems.
· Conducts local product/system level failure and root cause analysis at our customer’s site.
· Identifies product attributes and link those attributes to products and technologies.
· Identifies and develops new opportunities and build relationships through participation in trade shows and conventions.
· Develops strong customer relationships at a variety of levels and functions including product development, engineering, sales, marketing and supply chain.
· Develops an operating plan that is consistent with and supports the business plan.
· Determines and helps allocate required resources to successfully execute the plan.
- Communicates and achieves clear and measurable expectations of performance for development plan.
