Responsibilities
This position is a manager of QA Testers in one of our most cutting edge teams. Focusing on applications programmed on our handset.
Must have direct management (responsible for goals, objectives, coaching of employees etc.) of QA testers.. Must also have a solid hands on background in QA testing of programmed code.
Ensures projects follow appropriate testing life cycles. Makes appropriate adjustments to manage projects as they “unfold” Involving appropriate IT resources from other areas (Systems Management Network, Business Requirements), even if this involvement was not included in the original project plan. Ensures projects are staffed effectively and meet standards. Recommends changes/additions to the project plan, as appropriate continually improving quality while reducing man-hours and elapsed time associated with developing maintainable systems. Meets IT budget standards for respective area of responsibility.
Prepares weekly reports for upper management regarding project/business status. Ensures that projects are kept current for reporting purposes (Estimates entered, sub-tasks set up as appropriate, completed projects closed out, etc.). Communicates important developments and activities to clients and IT management as appropriate. Participates in budget planning and provide input that is accurate and timely. Staffs vacancies based on headcount and diversity targets in a timely fashion. Follows EEO guidelines in hiring and promotion of employees. Participates in employee salary planning and administration. Motivates, coaches and trains staff to maximize productivity and promote their professional development. Manages employee performance in a timely and consistent fashion per company policies and practices
In addition, Manager-IT is responsible for
• Supervising test plans that ensure critical thinking is done and articulated prior to each VVM project to ensure that the product meets requirements and specifications once it completes the quality cycle
• Responsible for ensuring the QA methodology develops
• Execute test cases and scenarios for the product
• Have exceptional code coverage
• Ensure the testing team attends project meetings and bug scrubs
• Drive all product software testing (unit, integration, system, regression, and performance) using automated and manual testing techniques
• Ensure the test leads define and evolve quality assurance testing standards, guidelines, procedures, processes, and metrics
Qualifications:
Direct Management experience of QA Testers
• 8 to 10 years of enterprise application testing
• 3 to 5 years of experience in mobile application testing
• 2 to 3 years of experience in managing team of 5+ in lead role
• Experience with automated testing tools, techniques, and capabilities
• Mobile Handset Software testing experience
• Experience with GUI or VUI testing
• Experience in using defect management software
• 4+ years of experience in mobile applications Quality Assurance process
BA or BS is a must
