March for Babies Director: March of Dimes Foundation

Our mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies’ lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight.

POSITION PURPOSE:
This position will be responsible for overseeing the Metro Atlanta March for Babies with a campaign goal of $1,700,000 and a staff of two additional fundraisers. This is a sales and management position.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Recruit, orient, train, and monitor performance of volunteers to organize events that meet or exceed fundraising goals.
• Manage and provide leadership to volunteer committees on the Metro Atlanta March for Babies to ensure that committee members are fully supported and accomplish tasks required for successful event.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with community leaders and organizations to promote March of Dimes (MOD) message, build support for MOD mission, and maintain volunteer involvement in MOD activities and programs.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records/data to evaluate cost-effective, profitability, and public awareness of events. This may include preparing income/expense budgets, compilation/analysis of event statistics, evaluation of media coverage, researching and analyzing community fundraising S
• Secure sponsorship for events.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with corporate partners and organizations to raise funds.
• Recruit new companies to participate in the event
• This position is sales in nature with specific financial goals

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Ability to meet and exceed fundraising goals
• Volunteer development (minimum of 2 years)
• Sales experience (minimum of 3 years)
• Sales management experience (minimum of 2 years)
• Ability to manage large accounts
• Able to work with C level executives
