Currently we are searching for a Research Biologist. This San Francisco-based position will work within an interdisciplinary team to conduct cell and molecular biology research on microRNA therapeutics.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
· Performing experiments related to biological or chemical research;
· Participating in the development of laboratory procedures, and compiling and processing data;
· Conducting research, utilizing the library, archives, and collections, and other sources of information, to collect, record, analyze, and evaluate facts;
· Discussing findings with colleagues to evaluate their validity;
· Assisting in the preparation of reports of completed projects for publication in technical journals, for presentations, or for use in further applied or theoretical research activities;
· Communicating results of own work, both written and oral, at group meetings. Contributing to the progress of projects and/or technologies.
Qualifications
BS in Biological Sciences and at least two years of relevant experience or MS Degree in Biological Sciences;
Basic molecular biology techniques including cloning, gel electrophoresis, ELISA, etc.; and transfection techniques;
Biology/Biochemistry/Drug Delivery experience with DNA, RNA and good sterile technique is desirable;
Experience with assay development in cell cultures;
Desired but not required: Experience with RT-PCR, RNA handling and isolation, compound characterization, siRNA transfection; bioinformatics
Ability to work independentally; to plan, execute, and interpret results of own experiments;
Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
