Management Responsibilities
1. Day to day administration of a large academic division including physicians, fellows and administrative staff.
2. Supervision of administrative staff.
3. Authorize and process new hires, terminations, and all human resources functions.
4. Facilitate the appointments and promotion process of current and new faculty.
5. Direct quasi front-end operations of outpatient practices. Work with FPA management to improve processes and operations.
6. Marketing and business development of programs and services.
7. Maintain oversight of all regulatory compliances with regard to research, clinical, and educational activities
8. Work with Division Chief to grow new programs.
9. Responsible for ensuring proper billing compliance for physicians.
10. Assist in business development for new programs.
Financial Responsibilities
1. Prepare and administer divisional budgets, grants, gifts, and endowment expenses.
2. Review monthly ledgers, budget variance reports and implement corrective actions as needed
3. Review and monitor current and pending Federal and Non-Federal grants
4. Manage clinical revenues and ensure proper billing collections.
5. Perform various financial analysis for P&L reviews, program development, short and long term planning
6. Financial reporting of all program and business units.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education
* Bachelor degree (Masters preferred) in business or healthcare.
Work Experience
* A minimum of five years related work experience in health care.
* Relevant experience in healthcare, particularly an academic medical center.
* Experience in using computerized accounting and financial information systems.
Preferred Characteristics
The ideal candidate must have proven management ability including strong interpersonal and communication skills. Individual must possess strong leadership, management, organizational, analytical, negotiation and conflict management skills. Individual must have the ability to provide innovative leadership in a dynamic environment and be able to work collaboratively with multiple constituents. Also required is a hands-on approach to operations and management as well as the ability to keep strategic initiatives in focus. Balance between ability to see the big picture and work at the detail level. hj123
