On assigned portfolio projects, the role will comprise the following activities: 

 

  • Lead the valuation activities (including integrity check of models)
  • Lead portfolio projects (at the sole discretion of the VP Portfolio – Americas)
  • Assess the impact of transactions on Group accounts in co-operation with the Downstream controllers organization
  • Provide the financial input to M&ADI proposals
  • Provide input to and analyze information memoranda
  • Support comprehensive risk assessments
  • Conduct financial due diligence or supervise financial due diligence work by external service providers
  • Support the deal structuring and governance design in cooperation with Tax, Legal and Business representatives
  • Support negotiations as appropriate
  • Support all other portfolio initiatives

Requirements:

The purpose of this role is to work with the Downstream Portfolio Group - Americas to deliver major products portfolio transactions to optimize the portfolio. These transactions will include acquisitions, divestments, swaps etc., across all lines of business. The role will be responsible to provide financial leadership for the selection and execution of these projects and will ensure that best finance practices are consistently applied throughout all stages of the mergers, acquisitions, divestments and investments (M&ADI) process, ranging from initial valuation, to deal structuring, negotiation and due diligence. This also includes ensuring that the standard assurance processes are being followed.

 

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Finance professional with experience in a range of finance roles including financial analysis and project evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to look beyond the numbers to understand the business and its risks, returns and opportunities
  • Experience of working in a project environment and being able to work on multiple assignments at the same time
  • Experience in MA&DI transactions and negotiations with third parties is preferred, but not required
  • Strong accounting background and expertise is a plus 6. 5+ years experience in Products (Manufacturing, Supply, Distribution, Transportation, Retail, Commercial)
  • Bachelors degree in finance, economics, engineering or other business related field, a related advanced degree is a plus
