Shell is currently seeking a Maintenance Team Lead - Major Maintenance* to work at the Fort McMurray Albian Sands mining project.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership in HSE for the maintenance department
• Ensure that all maintenance activities by Albian and contractor personnel are carried out in a safe, efficient and environmentally sound manner, by ensuring that all necessary procedures, practices, standards and rules are documented and followed
• Provide leadership to ensure that equipment is maintained with maximum efficiency and productivity by initiating corrective action and ensuring maintenance and engineering standards are adhered to;
• Ensuring that changes to the plant infrastructure by maintenance or other groups comply with the management of change procedures
• Ensures that human resources policies are applied in a fair and consistent manner
• Actively engage employees on issues affecting the department and plans for change/growth
• Ensures that the performance management process is utilized and that performance is managed to meet the needs of the company and the employee
• Provide assistance to the Shift maintenance crew during unscheduled Plant emergencies/breakdowns

Requirements:

• Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full time basis for anyone other than current employer
• No “fly in, fly out” option is offered with this position.  Relocation to Fort McMurray is required
• Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate in Journeyman Millwright Inter-Provincial Certificate 
• Required language(s); English

• At least 10 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position

• Preferably specializing in General Management - General Management Country or equivalent

• Full-Time positions available         

• Maximizing equipment and system availability by determining potential hazards and risks to production and developing/implementing systems to maintain required availability and integrity

• Maintaining focus on day-to-day short-term requirements while providing resources and direction for longer-term growth and continuous improvement

• Leadership of multi-discipline maintenance team with diverse skill sets

• Competence in cost control with respect to production rates, wear rates, technology and physical plant changes
