DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for preparation, review and ongoing monitoring of budgets, forecasts, strategic plans and other financial data to assist management with current and long range planning. Also serves as a key resource to the Senior Team in evaluating financial issues and providing the necessary solutions and recommendations. This position will be based in DEY’s East Coast facility.
* Trains, manages, develops and evaluates budget and planning personnel.
* Manages preparation of the Dey, L.P. annual budgets, monthly and quarterly forecasts, and three year plans and any ad hoc financial scenario analysis required by Dey Senior Management or Mylan Corporate Finance.
* Analyzes and evaluates budget and forecast data. Provides senior management with information required for strategic planning.
* Identifies and communicates potential issues to senior management.
* Monitors monthly results against budget and forecast and communicates variances to line management and senior management.
* Makes, evaluates and communicates recommendations for cost savings to senior management.
* Reviews financial analysis such as ROI and lease versus buy.
* Develops and implements procedures and systems to improve the budget preparation process and the presentation of budget information.
* Participates as finance representative on management teams for new programs, product and project development.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience. CPA, CMA and / or MBA preferred.
* Minimum of Eight years of general accounting experience, including at least three years of budget experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Pharmaceutical company experience preferred.
* Minimum of four years of supervisory experience.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and group skills.
* Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting theory, financial reporting and financial analysis.
* Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills. Ability to exercise sound judgement and maintain confidential information.
* Computer proficiency in AS400, Excel, WORD, and Powerpoint.
