Shell is currently seeking a Start Up Coordinator Planning & Scheduling* to work at the Albian Sands mining project.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Maintenance Planning Manager the Planner is responsible for the planning functions of routine maintenance activities with JPM Safe Work Practices and HSE guidelines - utilizing best practice to assist with the development of preventative maintenance programs
  • Develops work plans for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow for the efficient scheduling, assignment, and execution of maintenance work.
  • Evaluates job feedback to improve future work.
  • Provides technical assistance as required for maintenance personnel.
  • Works closely with the Scheduler, Analyst, and Maintenance and Operations Coordinators to determine work activities.
  • Assists in the development of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Creates, uses and maintains plant history and other technical information to include in current job plans.
  • Procurement of materials and equipment as required.
  • Interfaces with project and plant change planning as required.
  • Assists with turnaround and pant changes when needed

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have legal authorization to work in on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Experience in working with and detailed knowledge of: construction work packages, isometric drawings, P&IDs, Electrical specifications, and JDE and/or SAP business tools.
  • Maintenance background with journeyman qualification in related trade
  • Five years of planning and scheduling experience
  • 1-3 years experience in a Maintenance Planning or Scheduling role
  • A strong grasp of the English language with above average written and verbal skills
  • Dedicated to facing the challenge of commissioning and start-up
  • Required to be self-starter who is innovative creative and strategic
  • Sound decision making ability based on experience to support maintenance/reliability team
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Strong organizational and effective time management skills
  • Flexibility in managing changing priorities and ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Experience in a team environment is essential
  • Develop strong relationships with all stakeholders & departments, ensuring alignment to the planning process
  • Courses and seminars in the following areas: Scheduling, Planning, Estimating, and Time Management are an asset
  • Experience in planning for multiple crafts.
  • Expert user in CMMS systems, specifically Equipment Maintenance, Purchasing Modules
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Project
  • Knowledge of maintenance business processes and best practices, roles of specific trades, and manufacturing processes in an Upgrader, Refinery or similar Petrochemical operation
  • Development of maintenance plans, based on business process not wants
  • Work practices align to Corporate and site HSSD requirements
