Shell International Exploration and Production Inc. is currently seeking a Petrophysical Engineer for their Houston, Texas location.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality formation evaluation advice/execution for asset teams in EP-Solutions or directly for Regions, using most appropriate technology and fully integrated with other disciplines and the CoE’s in the QSE department
- Champion the development and application of one or more strategic formation evaluation capabilities such as EOR evaluation, unconventional reservoir evaluation, tight gas sand evaluation, and/or low resistivity pay evaluation
- Specific expertise and/or interest in developing skill or mastery in wellbore monitoring technologies, resistivity modeling and inversion, acoustic log interpretation, borehole image interpretation, cased hole and production logging interpretation, special core analysis, and QI petrophysics
- Further build and maintain links with EP-R&D and key vendors
- Participation in peer assists, technical assurance reviews and competitive technical intelligence activities
Requirements:
- Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- Petrophysicist with exposure to the wider Petroleum Engineering business having a strong understanding of petrophysical applications across the E&P lifecycle
- Significant direct experience and skill in new & leading formation evaluation technologies such as multi-component resistivity tools, NMR, borehole imaging, advanced acoustic logging, and special core analysis technologies is an advantage
- Position requires applicant to be able to apply these technologies in delivering strategic formation evaluation capabilities to projects globally
- The position requires the ability to form effective networks and to work co-operatively with Global Technical Partners, Regions and third parties
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
