Shell’s facilities in Canada encompass operations in each of Alberta’s three main oil sands deposits, an upgrader, four natural gas processing plants, a chemical manufacturing plant, three refineries, 2 lubricant plants, 19 distribution terminals, and more than 1,600 retail stations across the country. Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, we employ more than 5,000 people who are part of a 108,000 - member workforce in 130 countries and territories.

Shell Canada is currently seeking operators at the following sites:

* The Peace River Thermal Complex is located approximately 55Km east of Peace River, AB.  It is a heavy oil facility employing approximately 80 full time personnel. Bitumen deposits are stimulated by injection of high-pressure steam into the reservoir. The emulsion produced is processed at the central plant to produce a bitumen blend, which is then pipelined to market. An asphalt plant located within the process unit operates on a seasonal basis.

Responsibilities:

To perform duties associated with the daily operation of the production fields and associated equipment, ensuring that optimum performance is achieved while all safety and environmental standards are met, including:

* Ensure that all Field Operations comply with Shell Environmental Standards and the Standards spelled out in ISO 14001.
* Maximize production volumes and profitability in your area of responsibility.
* Accountable for Operating costs in their area, reviewing invoicing and following up on invoicing issues.
* Responsible for monitoring of wells and gathering systems.
* Assist with various programs such as cathodic protection, batch and continuous chemical usage, weed and erosion control programs.
* Accountable for hydrate prevention and removal in the field facilities and gathering systems.
* Troubleshoot and operate compressor stations in applicable fields when operating conditions require.

Requirements:

* Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
* Candidate must possess at least a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.  4th Class or higher Steam Tickets are preferred.  Trade Certificates are an asset.
* Applicants must be willing to work in Peace River and relocate to the area if not a resident.
* Applicants must have at least 3 years of relevant industrial experience. Oil & Gas experience an asset.
* Candidate must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s license.
