Responsibilities:
As a member of the Plant Reliability Team, you will report to the Chief Inspector/ Team Leader. You will be a team player who is dedicated to excellence in safety, in protecting the environment and in maintaining equipment reliability. You will have a strong foundation in preventative and predictive maintenance as well as having superior skills within your area of expertise.
- Minimal direct supervision, expected to operate in sphere of responsibility with autonomy and accountability, requesting direction as necessary
- Perform inspection activities as per inspection procedures.
- Perform UT and visual monitoring of pressure piping and equipment.
- Ensure that pressure equipment inspection and repair records and history database is maintained.
- Write repair and inspection reports, procedures and records as required.
- Monitor, audit and assess contractor and vendor activities related to this program.
- Act as owner’s inspector for new and in-service piping and equipment.
- Undertake other assignments as required.
- Ensure that inspection requirements are clearly defined prior to performing inspections. This may involve defining the extent of inspection and NDE required as part of the work scope development.
- Completes an internal and/or external inspection in accordance with a written procedure using a checklist where applicable, and issues and Inspection Work Request detailing all repairs identified during the inspection.
- Provides recommendations, as necessary to the appropriate personnel.
- If repairs or alterations are required, reviews and accepts repair/alteration work scopes in conjunction with the designated engineer. Also monitors repairs/alterations as required, ensuring conformance to the ASE Pressure Equipment Integrity System Program.
- Documents inspection results, repair and alteration details, and other information relevant to pressure equipment.
- Advises Area of inspection findings via Inspection Report as required.
- Ensures inspection frequencies are only exceeded when accepted by the Designated Engineer, Operations Area Supervisor and approved by the Inspection Team Lead and Chief Steam Engineer.
- Issues inspection interval lists as required to appropriate personnel for implementation.
- Coordinate and monitor contractor activities and performance to ensure conformance to requirements.
Requirements:
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a tull-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
- In-service Pressure Vessel Inspector Certificate of Competency.
- Certified to any one of; CWB Level II, API 510, API 570, National Board Commission, any CGSB Level II method or meet the requirements for any one of these certifications.
- At least two years related experience with documented training and experience and acceptance by the Inspection Team Lead.
- Technical school graduate with a minimum of two years experience.
- High school graduate with a minimum of five years relevant experience.
- The following tickets would be considered an asset:

- CGSB UT Level 1 or 2
- CGSB MP Level 2
- CGSB LP Level 2
- API 570 and 653

- Have a strong working knowledge of oil and gas industry codes, standards and jurisdictional regulations
- Be knowledgeable in corrosion fundamentals and mitigation
- Possess good computer skills
- Be willing to upgrade qualifications when and as required
- Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Dedication to safe work and environmental responsibility
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a self-motivated member of a flexible team with minimal supervision
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to execute inspection system activities by following “best practices” for a skilled Inspector
- Ability to asses inspection activities to ensure that the work is planned and completed in a safe manner
- Ability to conceive innovative and cost effective solutions to problems
