Description:
There are seven (7) open positions for the EDGE Business Analyst –
Planning and Scheduling.
The business analyst will work in a team environment to recommend and
deliver detailed transaction level business processes. This will be
accomplished by working closely with individuals from the associated
businesses who will become the end users of these newly created business
and supply chain processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop an improved process design for the planning and
scheduling functions. Identify customer and International Paper
business needs to incorporate into the future process design. Apply
knowledge and experience in developing the detailed processes that will
be adopted by the various businesses so that an integrated solution
results that considers the full range of the IP supply chain, e.g.
suppliers, to mills, to converting locations, to warehouses, to
customers. This will deliver improvements in the areas of raw material
utilization, inventory management, transportation, and distribution.
• Evaluate alternative procedural and that
meet needs while maintaining business standards. An emphasis will be
placed on consistency of process design between businesses.
• Identify, assess impact and assist in the resolution of issues
that develop related to business processes, policy, and systems changes.
• Assume accountability for individual tracks of planning and
scheduling work. This includes managing sub-groups to accomplish
assigned tasks within the designated timelines.
• Serve as a liaison with business groups; Communicate and support
EDGE principles in the implementation process while understanding and
assessing implications of proposed modifications.
• Work cohesively with other Business Analysts in EDGE teams,
Information Technology resources, consultants and business
representatives during implementation of EDGE. Key components include
the areas of change management, training, risk mitigation, and the use
of key performance indicators to track performance areas for successes
and opportunity needs.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should have 3+ years of business experience in planning and
scheduling functions at a manufacturing location or a business unit.
Individuals will possess a BS degree in business or a related field and
have a good understanding of supply chain concepts.
Ideal candidates will be team players that bring project management
skills, analytical skills, organizational skills, problem solving
skills, the ability to conduct effective and productive work sessions,
creativity and a commitment to deliver high quality products within
specified deadlines. They will have a detailed understanding of the
functions of cycle or block scheduling, an appreciation of the balance
required to both satisfy customer needs while maximizing manufacturing
performance, and knowledge of the transportation and distribution
processes. APICS certification and experience and knowledge of
converting functions and a working knowledge of planning and scheduling
software is also a plus.

TRAVEL:
It is estimated that travel will be slight during the business design
phase of work, although trips to locations will take place on an
occasional basis. Travel will be significant during the implementation
phase.
