This position is located in the Mankato, MN customer service center and is open
to internal and external candidates.
START DATE FOR THIS POSITION: We are accepting resumes from individuals

The first 2009 training program is projected to start on Monday, January 5, 2009
and will run through Friday, February 6, 2009. The 5 week Customer Service
training program will be conducted Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
These positions start at a rate of $11.88/hour and are eligible for a
post-training increase, shift differential for evenings and weekends and sales
commissions.
The focus of a Customer Service Representative in an Alltel call center
environment is first and foremost to provide a high quality customer experience
on each customer interaction. An Alltel CSR must appropriately engage and
connect with each customer on a personal level to create a great customer
service experience. Continued employment for this position is contingent upon
successful completion of the Alltel training process, which includes the New
Hire Training Assessment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
Resolve customer service inquiries and concerns regarding our products and
services (bills, coverage area, promotions, store locations and hours).
Increase customer satisfaction by offering alternative solutions and products.
Retain customers inquiring about canceling service.
Gain and maintain product/service knowledge.
Sell product features and accessories.
Assist in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum sales goals must be achieved.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent telephone communication skills.
Ability to focus on each individual customer.
Ability to demonstrate successful negotiation skills.
Good defusing techniques for difficult situations.
Ability to work in a fast pace environment, multi-task and make sound decisions.
Ability to use proper discretion in evaluating/elevating customer issues.
Be a team player with a positive attitude.
Ability to appropriately engage customer.
PC skills (Windows), 10-key and keyboarding skills.
Must be able to work a regularly established schedule which can include
evenings, holidays and weekends - The Mankato, MN Customer Service group will
operate Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from
8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Overtime may be required.
Ability to meet sales goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent.
0 - 2 years total experience;
0 - 1 year customer service and/or sales experience. College hours or a college
degree may be substituted for some experience as deemed appropriate.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1 year of customer service experience
Sales experience
Familiarity with wireless communication products and services
