RESPONSIBILITIES
communications support for Visa´s product efforts in the United States .
The objective of this position is to help grow Visa´s business, while supporting the company´s product and corporate reputation efforts. This objective will be achieved through the development and execution of US-focused communications programs based on Visa´s innovative products and services to influence the behavior of Visa´s key clients - financial institutions and their cardholders, merchants and employees.
This position will support global product PR efforts as needed, and primarily serve as a corporate relations liaison with the US product office, providing day-to-day communications counsel; proactive and reactive media relations support; and managing the development and execution of programs to raise awareness and drive usage of Visa´s products among key stakeholders. Among this position´s responsibilities are integrating product programs with corporate, brand/marketing and systems/innovation communication initiatives.
In supporting Visa´s business and corporate reputation objectives through communications programming, this position will:
§ Contribute to and manage the strategic direction of communications support for Visa´s product efforts in the US region
§ Build and manage strong working relationships with internal product partners
§ Manage US-focused product communications plans
§ Integrate product programming across other functions within corporate relations
§ Oversee the execution of Corporate Relations budgets within area of responsibility
§ Work collaboratively with issues management team on product-related issues
§ Strong written and oral communications skills
§ Work with the agency of record and other resources that support the communications needs of Visa´s US product group
REQUIREMENTS
§ 5-8 years experience in Product Public Relations
o Agency or Generalist background acceptable if it included Product Communications experience
§ Technology trade and/or financial services industry background a plus
§ Ability to develop and execute the implementation of results-oriented communications program as directed by Head of Global and US Product, Innovation and Marketing PR and Global Product PR leaders
§ Ability to draft communications materials - news releases, fact sheets, talking points, etc. - in accordance with strategic positioning developed by Global Product PR leaders
§ Successful candidate will possess the following attributes: strong writing skills, attention to detail, creativity, resourcefulness, initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm
§ Proven experience in multi-faceted program management, strategic planning, decision-making, and driving results in cross-functional teams
§ Proven US media relations experience and contacts, particularly with business, financial / technology trade and consumer publications
§ Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, often on short deadlines
§ Experience managing business issues
