Position Description:

This position can be located in either the Durham, NC or Arlington, VA office. This position will report to the Director, Communications to help establish a global media relations and partner communications infrastructure for the organization and manage media and partner communications needs in alignment with FHI strategy. Major focus of this role will be to establish a global media relations and partner communications infrastructure; proactively identify, develop, position and pitch relevant stories to the appropriate outlets to position FHI as a “partner of choice”; serve as a partner communications liaison with communications teams at partner organizations; and manage the reputation through media and partnership communications.
Minimum Requirements:
• BA/BS with 7-9 years of relevant experience in media relations, communications, or journalism; • MA/MPH with 5-7 years of relevant experience in media relations, communications, or journalism. • PR Agency or communications experience on Capitol Hill is a significant plus.
