2009 Fall Internship

Description:

Are you interested in learning about the stimulating, diverse world of public relations? Ketchum offers one of the most exciting and rewarding internship programs in public relations. You’ll be an integral part of one of our practice areas contributing to your team’s efforts your very first day! Our Washington, D.C., office is currently looking for fall interns. Interns gain experience in research, writing, media relations, and client and agency business.

Responsibilities:

* Developing and maintaining media lists

* Monitoring and tracking media

* Creating clip reports

* Writing media updates

* Preparing fact sheets and backgrounders

* Preparing pitch letters and pitch media

* Assisting in the development of press releases

* Writing client and/or team memos

* Assisting with research for new business opportunities and client presentations

* Assisting with event coordination

* Attending team meetings

Minimum Qualifications:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Passionate interest in/understanding of public relations

* B-grade average or better

* Basic understanding of the field of public relations, either through course work or previous internship experiences
