Chevron Products Company, a division of Chevron U.S.A. Inc., is accepting online applications for the position of Rotating Equipment Reliability (RER) Analyst located in El Segundo, California.
Overview:
The Rotating Equipment Reliability (RER) Analyst is responsible for improving long term machinery reliability in their assigned process units.
Typical responsibilities include developing and implementing machinery surveillance plans, providing coverage for unplanned/emergency machinery situations, and developing machinery reliability recommendations. Provides guidance on preventive and predictive machinery maintenance, determines causes of machinery failures, and develops solutions to prevent recurrence.
The RER analyst will be responsible for 600-1,000 pieces of rotating equipment.
Position Details: Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
• Document the route causes of all machinery reliability issues in their area of responsibility and troubleshoot all problem rotating equipment to eliminate excessive maintenance cost and performance deficiencies and develop recommendations and orders required parts for upgrades of problem equipment or bad actors.
• Analyzes mechanical equipment prior to scheduled turnarounds and issues recommendations to repair or overhaul only those pieces of equipment which are poor performers or will not operate to next scheduled turnaround.
• Arranges and originates all mechanical work to be performed outside the Chevron Refinery or facility. Also serves as Company representative to provide inspection services at contractor shops to insure quality workmanship for new equipment manufactures, major overhaul, or repair of Reciprocating and Rotating Equipment.
• Develops and issues detailed maintenance checklist, procedures and technical data for equipment repairs and overhauls.
• Plans, organizes and supervises the machinery monitoring and protection program to prevent catastrophic failures and to permit vibration analysis of impending problems. Issues Work Orders to perform major overhaul or routine maintenance as indicated by vibration analysis or performance testing.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years of machinery experience or ten years of experience as a machinery mechanic and/or analyst.
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio.
Preferred Qualifications:
• ASNT Level 1 and/or Level 2 Certification.
• API Standard Experience.
• Rotating equipment experience in a refinery or petroleum industry.
• Experience as a trainer or instructor is beneficial.
Relocation Options:
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
