II. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Director of Facility Services and the Chief Stationary Engineer, the Stationary Engineer is responsible for a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, plumbing, electrical and heating/air conditioning tasks to include installing and repairing equipment.
IV. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
A. Physical Activity–Dictionary of Occupational Titles Strength Rating: M.
B. Work Hazards and Risks–Potential for musculoskeletal injuries due to moving or lifting supplies and equipment; potential for exposure to infectious processes and hazardous substances within the hospital environment.
C. OSHA Blood Borne Risk Category I.
III. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
A. High school graduate or equivalent.
B. Stationary Engineer License - Class depends on position level.
C. Minimum of three (3) years experience in provision of building and power plant services with a focus on standards related to hospital environment preferred.
