Description

Make A Difference
Construction Inspector
Parsons provides mission critical solutions to the US government. Our landmark planning, environmental, engineering, construction, and facility operation programs have supported federally-funded chemical weapons demilitarization, military installations and ranges, space exploration, missile defense, aviation, and sustainability programs. Our services also support homeland security initiatives and reconstruction efforts after man-made or natural disasters.
Need
The Construction Inspector will be responsible for providing daily quality inspections and surveillance of the contractor’s Quality Control Program and attending and documenting meetings between construction contractor and Corps representatives
Specific responsibilities include:
-Evaluates construction Contractor’s Quality Control activities
-Notify Corps of any potential claims or disputes and any potential disputed interpretations of contract documents
-Participates and takes notes at pre-final and final inspections; conducts reviews of the contractor’s maintenance of accurate as-built drawings and provides comments on completed as-built drawings on a monthly basis
-Coordinates schedule of start-up tests, demonstrations, and field instructions
-Provides written comments on field conditions and impact of changes recommended or requested by others
-Provides construction photographs documenting progress and problem areas;
-Provides advice on general construction methods and practices as may be requested by the Corps

Qualifications

Requirements

* 5+ years of field construction/quality experience, or a broad general construction background in both vertical and horizontal construction is required.
* 2 year degree in Construction or Quality
* Potential to perform in a lead capacity
* Familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required
* Must posses a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project
