Director, Broadcast Systems Engineering – Fox Broadcast Center

FOX NEO is seeking a Director of Broadcast Systems Engineering to be responsible for designing a wide range of SD&HD video systems as well as analog/AES audio design into existing plant systems. This position is based in Los Angeles, CA at the FOX Network Center.

Responsibilities:
• Utilizing an extremely wide and diverse area of knowledge which comes from having experience in the systems integration industry, the Director, Broadcast Systems Engineering will manage the staff and technical resources of the department to facilitate the completion of projects, on budget and in a timely manner.
• Facilitate meetings with project managers & engineering teams to assist with defining the scope of work and developing timeline plans & project budgets.
• Provide appropriate technical solutions for client needs: must be capable of creating or communicating high-level conceptual designs.
• Utilize AutoCAD within the FOX drawing standards to review detailed technical drawings for use by installation crews to build the designed systems.
• Key systems include but are not limited to: HD&SD video, audio, control, communications, RF, Broadcast IT Networking Provide project support representing broadcast system design during integration.

Requirements:
• We’re seeking minimum of five to ten years management experience within the field of Broadcast Systems Engineering in the television broadcast industry
• Digital television broadcast systems design and documentation required; must have strong knowledge of SMPTE standards
• Design experience for digital and analog video and audio signals; NTSC, SDI, HD, ASI familiarity with computer and networking technologies design & automation control systems required.
• Strong communication skills required with the ability to communicate effectively with customers in order to fully understand their needs and meet the goal of designing a system on budget and in a timely manner; manage department with sound systems engineering practices.
• Must possess the ability to clearly convey ideas and concepts to support management business objectives
• Must have strong analytical and reasoning skills along with proficient mathematical skills
• Project management and customer service skills are essential.
• Proposal writing and technical documentation creation are required.
• Candidate must be able complete projects in a multi-tasking environment under deadlines Proficiency in AutoCAD required.
