The Senior Joint Interagency Training Specialist must posses the skills and functional knowledge required to evaluate complex, major system real world, operational, training, engagement, and exercise requirements. This requires a thorough understanding of all the parameters affecting and interfacing with the systems used in operations and exercise as well as supporting development of the USAFRICOM Joint and Interagency Training Plans and operational warfighting/engagement plans, with essential focus on Interagency process activities. Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university or graduation from military command and staff college plus 10 years of task related experience (5 of which earned as O-4/Gov’t civilian equivalent or above) or a combination of 15 years of military operational experience (5 of which earned as O-5/Gov’t civilian equivalent or above). Operational experience includes planning and executing combined and joint operations at the theater or component level, experience with the Joint Training System (JTS), knowledge of combat arms, all sources intelligence analysis, logistics, civil-military operations, and U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM) area of activity (or functional area) and task related experience. Working knowledge of United States’ Interagency Processes and government agency activities and coordinating processes between AFRICOM Theater and strategic national levels desired. Multi-theater operational or senior staff (Combatant Command or/and Joint Staff) experience desired if candidate has no USAFRICOM staff experience. Familiarity with the United States’ Interagency processes is essential as well as direct experience with U.S. Joint Operations, Exercises, and Planning. Graduate of JPME Phase I and Phase II desired. Security Clearance Required.
