Data Entry/Laboratory Assistant
Charleston, WV

Job Description :

LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant for our facility in Charleston, WV. This is an entry level position but does require good data entry skills. This is a full time, benefited postiion working 8AM-4:30PM Tuesday-Saturday.

Basic Functions:

* Prepares laboratory specimens for designated departments/locations prior to lab analysis and testing
* Unpacks specimens from branches and routes by type to various staging areas
* Prepares all specimens received for testing in designated departments or locations such as staging of specimens, centrifuge, separation of serum, and blood smears
* Aliquots sample for department
* Prepares excess specimen samples for storage and resolves and documents problem specimens
* Verification and data entry of requisitions

Requires high school diploma or equivalent.

Must pass data entry skills assessment

Preference given to individuals with medical/science background or related education

Must be comfortable working with specimens (i.e. blood, urine)

Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, production driven environment
