Support successful completion of all projects and reports within RF Planning staff responsibilities.
Support the RF Planning manager in supporting all necessary forums, projects, etc. Projects can consist of new product rollout, data analysis (engineering and financial), infrastructure equipment, roadmap development and guidance, capacity improvement techniques, performance monitoring methods, setting milestones, preparing financial justification, and tracking.
Support development, optimization and maintenance of RF Planning guidance, policies and procedures to ensure effective deployment of financial resources.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships within immediate planning team and other Verizon Wireless Network groups.
Work with corporate organizations to transition to new policies and processes as needed.
Provide clear, concise reports and analyses.
Prepare presentations to facilitate executive level network reviews and meetings.
Support market issue resolution and technical issues management.
Understand Lucent, Motorola and/or Nortel BTS architecture and functionality.
Assist RF planning team in planning yearly growth and maintenance of capital budgets.
Provide monitoring and tracking of regional capital budgets throughout the year.
SUMMARY
Support timely completion of RF planning analyses, budgets and reports. Support establishing and then convey RF planning guidance and policies. Ensure that corporate RF Planning policies and procedures are complied with. Perform traffic engineering analysis and develop network evolution and growth plans.
Must possess and demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude. Must be strongly results oriented. Must be able to foresee and avoid obstacles to success. Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of wireless communication systems with 4+ years of experience.
2+ years RF engineering experience.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related technical field required, a Masters degree a plus.
Mastery of CDMA digital (1xRTT and 1x-EvDO) cellular and PCS system design and optimization concepts.
Mastery of RF propagation tools such as dB Planner.
Strong computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets (including formulas/graphs, high proficiency in MS Excel a must), database management, UNIX and Windows operating systems.
Strong skills at producing clear oral and written communications.
Tenacious perseverance and resourcefulness.
Must be able to work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed.
Overnight travel will be required.
Valid Drivers license required.
