Instructional / Web Designer, Technical Account Management (TAM)
Description
Amazon.com is looking for an experienced instructional/web/UI designer to join our Technical Account Management (TAM) Global Education and Communication Team (GEAC). We are chartered with creating technical documentation and educational solutions for Amazon’s seller population. Towards this effort, the designer in this role will be responsible for developing e-learning solutions to help educate our sellers about selling on the Amazon platform. You will work with subject matter experts to develop web-based movie tutorials using Flash and Camtasia, maintain and update tutorials and develop on-line learning assessments and surveys. You will also work across teams to develop a comprehensive Seller Education program that includes tutorials, webinars, blogs, Help pages and discussion groups. Our vision is to develop a “Seller Information Hub” where sellers can access multiple options for learning about selling on Amazon. To accomplish this vision we are looking for someone with creative design skills who can create online web learning environments that are visually compelling and graphically appealing. You should be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a team environment. You should have a demonstrated affinity for technology and software, and a genuine desire to create streamlined and cost-effective learning solutions. Experience creating customer-facing (i.e., external) e-learning solutions is required. Excellent writing and editing skills are required and you should have demonstrated experience working with subject matter experts on technical topics. Excellent project management skills are essential to your success in this role, as is the ability to work quickly and creatively in a fast-paced environment. Classroom-led training is not part of this role.
Qualifications
We invite you to impress us with examples of your knowledge and experience by providing an online portfolio of your current or previous instructional design and curriculum development work. A successful candidate will have proven and relevant experience/credentials in the following areas:
1) Instructional Design/E-learning (5+ years)
2) Web and/or Graphical Design (5+ years)
3) Leadership/Project Management (3-5 years)
* Ability to focus, drive, and lead cross-functional discussions and initiatives
* Ability to effectively scope, schedule, and deliver projects under tight deadlines
4) Technical Aptitude:
* Proficiency or strong aptitude with Camtasia, HTML, HTML editing tools, Dreamweaver, Photoshop/Illustrator, all MS Office products, Flash and other web-authoring/e-learning tools
* Knowledge of/experience with online learning websites and learning portals
5) Experience Creating Customer-facing (i.e., external) e-learning Solutions
6) Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles and Online Learning Environments and Systems
7) Expertise in Evaluation and Learning Assessment Methodologies
Knowledge of Learning Management Systems
9) Degree in English, Technical Writing, Education, Training, Instructional Design, Communications or other relevant field
Highly Desired:
1) Proficiency or strong aptitude with Java
2) User Interface Design/Layout (5+ years)
