Shell International Exploration and Production Inc. is currently seeking a Quality Management Engineer - Generalist for their Houston, Texas location.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor HSE, and technical performance in sphere of influence, measure the quality of the products and formulate means for improvement
- Set a clear leadership example and promote a high degree of health, safety and environmental awareness among project stakeholders by participating in HSE meetings
- Initiate change and champion best practice application of appropriate technical design practices, technology, and DtL practices
- Provide technical support to well technology group
- Ensure learnings and best practices are captured and shared
- Provide technical input for, and assist in establishing logistics and procurement procedures
Requirements:
- Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- Bachelors Degree Preferred: Mechanical Engineering along with substantial experience in the E&P Tubular and Equipment field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills which may include frequent communication with supplier high level management
- Knowledge of marine mechanical equipment and tubular manufacturing processes
- Technical background in manufacturing engineering and quality assurance
- Specific knowledge of API, NACE, ASTM, ASME, and Shell Oil Specifications
- Knowledge of metallurgy, welding, destructive and nondestructive testing
- Technical expertise in the manufacturing and/or the servicing industry including domestic and foreign manufacturing/service processes and process redesign
- Knowledge of Exploration and Producing related equipment, standards, and specifications
- Trained in ISO quality system auditing including certification/experience as a Quality System Auditor
- Knowledge of computers which includes word processing, database management, and graphics presentation
- Supervisory capability and ability to accomplish goals through team building concepts
- Previous experience in the inspection and disposition of OCTG (casing, tubing and drillpipe)
