Chevron Global Downstream is accepting online applications for the position of Alkylation located in Richmond, , through February 20, 2009.

Overview:

The Alkylation will provide advanced level alkylation technical support to multiple Chevron and Joint Venture refineries. Focus of the position will be to support Alkylation units worldwide with the business network leader.
Position Details:     Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

• Capital Project Development and Support – Provide process engineering support for capital project development and construction.
• Operations Support and Development - Develop procedures and support for commissioning of new and existing facilities. Participate in unit optimization teams to work on short and long term process improvement opportunities.
• Individual Work Contribution - Support requires answering technical questions, making technical recommendations, process troubleshooting, engineering tool development and developing procedures.
• Mentor/resource – Act as mentor/resource for refinery reliability analysts and process, design and control engineers.
• Business Network/Refinery Support - Network with counterparts in other refineries to leverage shared expertise. Be an effective member of the Alkylation Business Network. Identify gaps between current performance and best-in-class, and recommend opportunities for improvement.
• Turnaround Project Support – Participate in the development of turnaround work scope, inspections and provide engineering support for repairs and maintenance.
• Business travel is required, domestically and overseas (up to 30% time).

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and equilvalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience in Alkylation technical support in petroleum refineries.
• 15+ years is required, of which 10 years should be Alkylation.
• Process Engineering and operational experience in Alkylation unit and familiarity with other olefin processess like Merox Treating, Selective Hydrogenation is desirable.

Relocation Options:

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
