Description:
PEOPLE
• Ensure that all and delivery employees receive proper
and skills development.
• Ensure compliance with company and government policies and regulations
(e.g., Safety, OSHA, HazMat, DOT).
• Develop and implement specific objectives and performance measures for
each functional area and individual to improve performance.
• Assist Manager in selection and hiring of new and delivery
employees and supervisors; evaluate employee performance; develop and
implement action plans for improving all employees.
CUSTOMERS
• Oversee the preparation and loading of trucks for shipments and
delivery of orders in conformance with company procedures and customer
instructions.
• Update Customer Special Picking, Packaging, and Delivery Requirements
Book with information and instructions needed to meet customer needs.
Informs crew of the Special Requirements. Post new requirements for
crews to see.
• Ensure that the shipping priority of Key, Target, National, and Core
Accounts is followed and executed with help from the and
Shipping Coordinators.
• Ensure special instructions and notes on customer orders are
completed.
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
• Plan and coordinate work activities of functions, including
receiving, picking, shipping, delivery, security, and inventory control.
• Make recommendations for and implements improvements in efficiency and
effectiveness of operations.
• Oversee scheduling and dispatching of leased and company-owned
vehicles.
• Ensure that all DOT and any other governmental licensing of drivers is
met.
• Maintain and control the physical condition of the and
delivery equipment, supplies, security, facilities, grounds, etc.
• Oversee physical inventory in the .
• Ensure regular and productive meetings to improve
performance.
• 3+ years supervisory/management experience or equivalent required,
preferably in operations. Excellent leadership and
interpersonal skills, including but not limited to performance
management, and interviewing are required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Strong planning, organization, and customer relations’ skills are
required.
• May be requested to perform other duties as assigned.
