Business Information, Programmer Analyst Consultancy, New York Headquarters (SSA)

The selected candidate will be offered a consultancy contract known as SSA in UNICEF New York. S/he will be required to work on a full-time basis in the Knowledge Management Section at UNICEF’s ITSS Division in its New York headquarters.
Main functions, duties and responsibilities:
Reporting to the Business Information Programmer Analyst, the consultant will be responsible for Business Information “front room” tasks included below:
1. Develop new cubes and reports using Cognos 8 contributing towards the delivery of the 2009 workplan set by the Business Information Governance Board.
2. Develop test and maintain COGNOS models, reports, and cubes for the aforementioned assignments.
3. Develop technical documentation for COGNOS models, reports and cubes related to the assignments listed in task 1.
4. Program the corresponding screens, reports, interfaces as assigned by the project manager.
Interim/Final Output Required:
• Reports/cubes/queries as per the project plan
• Model changes as required
• Technical documentation describing the above
Qualifications or specialized knowledge/experience required:
• Proven ability to break large technical or business problems down into smaller units, to discuss and analyse solutions with end users, and to communicate the problem/solution to the various analysts in the business or technical sections.
• Strong oral and written communications
• Proven experience in SQL programming
• Proven experience in Cognos 8 programming
• Experience developing technical documentation
