Description
Purpose/Role Statement
A Project Manager is a leader of a product or technology development project. This is a defined term position with a scheduled duration of ~12-15 months.
Key Responsibilities
· People Management: Manages medium-sized (occasionally multi-site) cross-functional development teams; leads teams effectively; provides input to functional managers on team and team member performance.
· Product/Technology Management: Manages the technical challenges of technology application and new product development; identifies, communicates, and manages moderate levels of technical risk. Lead team of software developers and SWQEs in the development of an upgrade release for iLab product. Utilize PDP and IBM set of Rationale tools.
· Project/Program Management: Manages key initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes; develops and implements project plan; builds team ownership and commitment to project plan. Responsible for the completion of all phases of PDP up to and including launch of new software release.
· Process Management: Implements TDP/PDP; leads team to complete activities to current policies and practices; keeps documentation organized, creates Scaling Plan and Design History File for the project. Identifies process improvements affecting project(s).
· Communications and Reviews: Responsible for team and cross-functional communications; liaison between the team and the PIB; leads phase and business reviews, project meeting minutes, issues log, metrics, and other key communications. Under direction of a Senior Program Manager, interface with R&D, Quality, Marketing, Regulatory, and Packaging.
Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities
Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
BS Degree (Engineering/Technical field desired) or equivalent experience. Seven years experience (three of which are project management) along with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Must have significant project management experience in Software. Business experience demonstrated through business knowledge, leadership skills and process development capabilities.
