At present, we have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer in our Phoenix, AZ location.

The Quality Engineer will directly support multiple production areas to identify and resolve quality issues. This position provides project/technical leadership associated with specific assemblies and/or finished products.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Assignments will relate to value stream flow analysis and improvement, root cause analysis, producibility enhancement, manufacturing process controls, performance monitoring, and product cost improvements.
· Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers on quality issues.
· Plan and perform process improvement initiatives to include FMEA and six sigma methodologies.
· Responsible for product quality, assuring compliance of assigned product/project to the customer’s expectations as defined by build plans and customer documentation.
· The ideal candidate will possess the skills and experience necessary to perform in both technical and manufacturing roles. Technical competence includes product technologies, such as electro-mechanical, circuit cards, metallic and non-metallic structures, as well as production technologies, such as equipment-driven processes, material handling practices, statistical process control, Lean principles, and test methodologies. Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques is required.
· This position will not have direct reports, but will require leadership skills as it relates to an ability to plan, align, and execute a multi-disciplined team, to include suppliers, to achieve a business objective.
· Responds to requests, investigate, and solve problems of moderate scope and complexity.
· Train employees on quality related areas, such as 5S and Lean.
· Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
· BS degree (Engineering specific preferred) or equivalent technical training and experience
· 2-4 years experience in electronics, aerospace, medical or automotive manufacturing
· Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
· Proficient in MS Office applications
· Problem solving and project management skills
· Demonstrated experience involving technical problem solving and process improvement tools.
· Technical and materials analysis
· Engineering Interpretation
· Working understanding of ISO
· Ability to troubleshoot problems and recommend potential solutions
· Ability to understand and accurately follow technical documentation
· Understanding of Lean and six sigma practices in a manufacturing environment
· Ability to work effectively under general supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
· Technical leadership
· Advanced manufacturing technologies; demand flow technologies and/or lean/six sigma certification
· Direct experience with performing hardware First Article Inspections, conducting work instruction (assembly planning) audits, design for manufacturability/repeatability and validating Engineering Change implementation is desired.
