Mid-Size law Firm in Central New Jersey is looking to add a SEASONED ENVIRONMENTAL ATTORNEY to their practice....
This role will assist a senior partner on all matters. Their is an OPPORTUNUITY TO ULTIMATELY INHERIT PRACTICE.
The firm is looking for an experienced attorney, some duties will include but not be limited to:
* Obtains and retains environmental law clients by following-up on referrals; understanding case information; presenting legal options; maintaining rapport.
* Provides environmental law legal advice by conducting legal research; monitoring The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) enforcements, and state and local government regulations; keeping clients abreast of case developments; providing explanations of legal concepts and actions.
* Helps companies satisfy environmental law requirements by obtaining required permits; monitoring regulatory compliance; auditing environmental practices; preventing penalties.
* Offers companies advice on cleanup and superfund issues by counseling businesses that own, have owned, or are considering purchasing land that may be contaminated with hazardous waste.
* Helps citizens remedy violations of environmental laws or regulations by representing them in litigation.
* Develops environmental law cases by supervising paralegals; reviewing investigative findings; consulting with experts; completing discovery process.
* Completes environmental law case preparation by preparing legal briefs; developing strategies, arguments, and testimony.
* Maintains environmental law case progress by following and enforcing productivity and quality standards; resolving operational problems; identifying work process improvements.
* Resolves environmental law cases by filing lawsuits; settling, mediating, or bringing to trial; planning, organizing, and presenting arguments and counter-arguments; engaging expert witnesses; preparing and presenting evidence; preparing and interrogating witnesses.
* Maintains cost standards by monitoring expenses; recommending cost-saving opportunities.
* Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes.
* Updates environmental law job knowledge by tracking case law and the development of legal theories; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
* Accomplishes law firm goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
