Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.
Complete individual credit reviews for all commercial and specialized lending groups:
a. Exception identification and tracking.
b. Assessing accuracy of risk ratings in various commercial portfolios
and making recommendations for upgrades/downgrades where
appropriate.
c. Reviewing loan approval documents, credit files, and documentation
files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with bank polices
and approval terms.
2.
Prepare and/or review written reports outlining the results of the loan review function. Reports are to discuss asset quality, credit files, policy compliance, documentation deficiencies, and other administrative issues and recommend corrective action to lenders/management.
3.
Using professional judgment, expediently identify exceptions, evaluate materiality, and guide with curing/resolving of exceptions.
4.
Maintain current knowledge of bank lending policies, as well as developments in the industry and profession. Analyze new and pending laws/regulations that directly affect the areas of responsibility.
5.
Proactively recommend and initiate changes to appropriate lending and loan review processes, policies, and procedures to enhance the department’s work-flow and output, as well as increase the value of review results to management.
6.
Perform a periodic review of Credit Administration’s calculation of the amount of the allocated portion of the Bank’s Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses.
7.
Provide technical advice and assistance to lending personnel to avoid potential exceptions or inaccurate risk ratings and to identify deteriorating loan situations. Identify areas with a high degree of inaccurate risk ratings or loan documentation exceptions.
Skills/Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience that gives an understanding of work procedures, job standards, and the job knowledge that may be required. Ten or more years experience in Commercial Loan Administration/Loan Review.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines is essential. Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to function in a high volume environment and within time constraints. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Product: Excel, Word, Power Point and Access.
