Primary Role

This position performs technical work in the and repair of distribution systems. This position also performs Operation of the Distribution System. Position may require some overtime, weekend, and holiday work as well as On-Call responsibility.

Key Accountabilities

Performs repairs, preventive and corrective on distribution system equipment including; pumps, fire hydrants, valves, tanks, chemical feed equipment, motors, electrical controls, and related components.

Prepares orders for materials, supplies, spare parts and equipment.

Performs system operator duties including but not limited to collecting samples, performing quality field tests, operating pumps, maintaining levels and pressure, adding chemicals to the , and main repairs

Maintains computerized and manual records and prepares reports pertaining to the operation of the system, reviews daily reports and plant operations, and makes changes as required to meet operating requirements.

Follows Company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies. Wear and work in proper personal protective equipment.

Meets with customers and maintains acceptable customer service.

Performs other related functions assigned or as they become apparent or as management assigns.

Skills

Effectively and safely operates hand tools, pneumatic tools, air compressors and other small equipment related to the trades and system operations.

Hands-on experience in light duty electrical power systems (240 V/ single and three phase) and instrumentation calibration and use.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to chemical addition and system operation

Knowledge

Knowledge of mechanical operation, and repair of equipment and systems.

Knowledge of electrical systems related to equipment in assigned work area.

Knowledge of proper operation of hydraulic, pneumatic and telemetry equipment.

Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.

Knowledge of distribution system processes including ability to operate basic systems independently.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Must possess a valid, active state driver’s license preferably with CDL suitable for small dump truck use.
