Shell Services Company is currently seeking a , & Release , for their , location.

Responsibilities:

The change from local/regional operating model to a global one is a significant change. Implementing standard release mgmt processes and procedures will require strong leadership and change management capability, as well as recognition of global standard support processes that need to be adapted for the Shell business.
  • Design Release Mgmt processes utilizing ITIL, industry best practice, and Group IT processes adapting for Shell business
  • Design and develop processes, procedures, and ways of working that will assist application developers with the planning, build, configuration and testing of hardware and software releases components (collection of changes) for live environments. This will entail working with the development & project teams to understand current issues and to ensure consistent packaging of releases
  • Coordinate all releases affecting applications, infrastructure, or cross functional services
  • Develop & Champion the new Release Management processes and ensure the business & IT understand the benefits and change/release schedule and coordinate communication of all changes to stakeholders
  • Implement a global Release Management Process
  • Plans and oversees the successful rollout of multiple sets of changes in a release of software and related hardware
  • Designs and implements efficient procedures for the distribution and installation of Changes to IT systems
  • Ensures that hardware and software being changed is traceable, secure and that only correct, authorized and tested versions are installed
  • Ensure changes are in accordance with compliance rules
  • Communicates and manage expectations of the Customer during the planning and rollout of new Releases
  • Ensures that all changes within a release are effectively coordinated and that a release picks up all applicable pending changes (i.e. ensures nothing gets left out)
Principle Accountabilities:

  • Team player on Support Excellence Team working closely with the Change Coordinator and Incidence/Prob Mgr as it relates to Release Mgm
  • Influence on the performance of release management in Shell , in addition to impact to the business with regard to & communication
  • No direct budget responsibility but, through the Release Management processes, has indirect influence on availability of IT systems including SOX-relevant financial applications
  • No direct reports, but has influence over all Shell IT staff regarding Release Management processes

Requirements:

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Experience with Change & Release management processes & enabling tools
  • Experience in implementing and managing large-scale change across IT boundaries and geographies
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively & influence others in a cross-functional, multi-application, multi-service providers environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of application support processes
  • Broad understanding of the overall application landscape
  • Functional understanding of the other support processes, e.g., Service Level, Incident & Problem management
